Family violence

Family violence is the most popular violent crime in almost of countries. Family violent covers a large range of controlling behaviors. They are commonly of a physical, sexual or psychological nature, and typically involve fear, harm, intimidation and emotional deprivation. This may include verbal abuse, threats, intimidation and controlling behaviors, such as limiting access to friends, relatives, finances, etc. it occurs within variety of close interpersonal relationships, such as between spouses, partners, parents, and children, siblings, and in other relationships. Family violence affects all members In many ways. Especially, it has bad effects on both children’s physical health and their spirit. Children often see violence. Even if they do not see it, they may well hear it. And even if they cannot hear it, they will always feel the effects on violence in their home. They may hear about violence from adults’ talking about. They may see how the violence affects their parents. They may be abused themselves either by being caught in the crossfire or later as victims of violence themselves. Children in violent homes are at increased risk for serious physical and sexual abuse. Older children may imitate the violence behaviors they witness. Some children show their behaviors pessimistically and become aggressive, cruel, disobedient and destructive. Other children express their behavior in the form of sadness, fear and anxiety. Violence between siblings can also affect a child’s development. Children in violent houses are out of temper and have poor peer relations. They perform less well in school, too. To sum up, family violence is very harmful to all members. What should we do to solve this problem?

Life after death

What is the life after death like? Have you ever imagined where would you be after dying? How could we know about our existence? Some people claim that we will disappear from the world after breathing the last breath. However, people of opposite opinion believe that we’ll go on living in another world. This second world may be the heaven or the hell. Also, someone suppose that we’ll stay somewhere in an uncertain space. It means that we will be reborn to live another life. To their mind, there exists the life after people pass away. In other word, our consciousness or soul is remained. Obviously, the answer varies from person to person basing on his/her own belief.

This week we have a big game instead of discussing a topic.
Rules of the big game:
You will be in a team of some people to compete to other teams. there are 20 questions in grand total. You will choose questions at random. and you have 1 minute to dicuss with your teamates, then express your answer in 2 minutes. Each question has different point and some ones have speacial things.
The game will last about 60 minutes, from 7:30 to 8:30.

Trial marriage
Nowadays, trial marriage has become more and more popular in many countries, especially in western ones. Trial marriage is the way that unmarried partners live together. In Vietnam, the tendency of cohabitation between young couples has been dramatically increased. There are many opposite opinions about this matter. Some people approve and some others disapprove of it. As trial marriage brings people evolved advantages and disadvantages as well. Supporters of cohabitation say that it is a good preparation for their marriage in the future. Because partners may get many experiences and well understanding about their partners. As the result, they are more confident to make decision whether they will get married to each other later or not. Others holding opposite opinion argue that trial marriages affect both partners negatively if they fail to become spouse. Firstly, a large number of boys want to cohabit with their girlfriend not for love, but just taking advantages of the girl. Therefore, it brings psychological pain for the girls, and bad effect on the girl’s health and even the girls may lose their chance to become a mother afterwards. Secondly, trial marriage may disrupt virtuous standards in society. In your opinion, the disadvantages of trial marriage outweigh the advantages. What is your attitude towards “ trial marriage” ?

IVF

What is IVF. It stands for In Vitro Fertilization technology. Scientists have discovered this process as a way to enable the couples who are infertile to bare children. Some say that IVF is miracle that gives to individuals the opportunity to bring a “new life” into the world. It appears to be a blessing for infertile couples and to bring a lot of joys to many families. However, others claim that IVF is playing God. It is nothing that more than infanticide in disguise. Despite this condemnation, thousands of people even the members of spiritual communities take part in IVF every year. The increase in use and potential for abuse is alarming.

RAISING TUITION , FOR OR AGAINST ?

With the every school year approaching , the issue of tuition inherently pisses both parents and student off . Despite kid’s good academic performance , farmer’s worries
about the annual ever growing tuition do not melt away . Especially , the announcem- ent of the government to raise the fee up to be more than 2.5 millions in 2009 – 2010 and the peak of 7 to 8 millions VND per year in 2014 shock them to the core .
The goal of this policy seems to be obvious : Improving the education systerm , pro-
viding the sufficient facilities and finally high-skilled labor our nation . Understandably
the poor performance of our education is attributed to the lack of investment in upgrad-
ing equipment as well as low pays for teachers . With this added amount of money ,
many universities now can independently implement their own policies , creating the
good conditions for student to study .It then makes economic sense : what sudents later
gain thanks to high quality education will outstrip the modest amount of tuition . More-
over , let’s take a look the dilema of our labor market today : tons of bachelors graduate
from universities each year to become while-collar worker , while no one seem to be
willing to be a blue-collar or manual worker .Therefore , the rise in education fee will discourage those who do not want to waste their money in higher education.
The scale of work force is back to its own balance.
Nevertheless , this wonderful picture seem not to fit in our real Vietnamese education,
according to some scholars . While the average GDP per capital of our country is still
under the poverty standard , $ 1000 per year , for-fold climb , spent on university edu-
cation sounds unreasonable . Cruelly , to some extent it is the increase in tuition fees
that will close the door to universities to many hardworking but poor students in rural areas . Considering again the scared objective of our education – the equal chance for
all, we can not help but wonder whether this principle still exist in our society.
Additionally , it is easy to claim that “ more money invested will lead to be better education” , but how better it will be remain a question.

2 , It is said that more funds will help better education , is that collecting money from
tuition is only way for universities to finance themselves?
